Botulinum toxin injected just under the skin of the underarms to block the nerve signal that drives sweat glands. It's one of the few aesthetic-clinic treatments with a genuinely medical indication, and one of the cheapest ways in Korea to solve a problem that antiperspirants don't touch.

How it works
Sweat glands are triggered by acetylcholine released from small nerve endings. The toxin blocks that release across a grid of shallow injections, so the glands in the treated area stop responding. The glands themselves are unharmed — function returns as the nerve endings recover, which is why it wears off.

FAQ
Is 50 units enough?
50 units per underarm is the common starting dose, so both sides come to about 100. Clinics often list the per-side price, which makes the treatment look half its real cost — confirm which you're being quoted.
Will I just sweat somewhere else instead?
Some people notice mild compensatory sweating elsewhere, but it's usually minor. Your body has plenty of other sweat glands and overall thermoregulation isn't impaired.
Can it be done on hands and feet?
Yes, and it works well, but palms need more units, hurt considerably more and can cause temporary weakness in fine grip. Most clinics will want a proper consultation first.
How soon before a trip should I do it?
Two weeks ahead for full effect. Done the day before a wedding, it won't have kicked in.

- Botulinum toxin is sold per unit. Doses are area-dependent (a jaw is ~50 units, a trapezius ~100–200), so ask for units, not 'one shot'.
Quoted per 50 units per side, with the same origin ladder as any toxin — one Seoul list ran ₩75k / ₩120k / ₩160k / ₩190k across Korean, premium Korean, German and American products. Both underarms usually need 100 units total, so check whether a quoted price is per side or for the pair.
