Hyaluronidase (Filler Dissolver)
히알라제 / 필러 녹이는 주사 · also: 필러 녹이기, hyalase, filler dissolving injection
An enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid filler. It's the fix if you dislike a filler result and don't want to wait a year for it to fade, and it's the emergency treatment if filler blocks a blood vessel. Any clinic injecting HA filler should have it in stock, and it's fair to ask.
This breaks the skin or carries vascular/systemic risk, so a medical intake is required before treatment.
How it works
Hyaluronidase cleaves the bonds holding a hyaluronic acid gel together, so the filler breaks down into fragments the body clears within days. It works on HA fillers only — it does nothing to permanent fillers, calcium-based products, PLLA collagen stimulators or fat grafts, which is one of the strongest arguments for sticking to HA in the first place.

An enzyme that dissolves hyaluronic acid filler. It is both the fix for a filler result you dislike and the emergency treatment for a blocked blood vessel — which is why a clinic injecting HA filler should have it on the shelf.
What it does
- ✓Reverses HA filler within days
- ✓Corrects lumps, migration or overfilling
- ✓Emergency treatment for vascular occlusion
Good for you if
- •Filler you regret
- •Lumps, asymmetry or a puffy under-eye
- •Migrated lip filler
- •Clearing old filler before new work
Aftercare
- ✓Expect swelling and sometimes bruising for 1–2 days — often more than the original filler caused.
- ✓Don't judge the outcome for two weeks; the area keeps settling.
- ✓Wait at least two weeks before any new filler in the same area.
Not suitable if
- !Known allergy to hyaluronidase or to bee or wasp venom (cross-reactivity is possible).
- !Active infection at the site.
- !Pregnancy, except in an emergency.
- !Non-HA filler — it simply won't work, and injecting it anyway is a waste of money.
FAQ
Should I ask whether a clinic stocks this before getting filler?
Yes, and a good clinic won't mind the question. Hyaluronidase is the emergency treatment if filler occludes a blood vessel — a rare but genuinely serious complication where minutes matter. A clinic injecting HA filler without it on the shelf is cutting a corner.
Will it dissolve only the filler?
It acts on hyaluronic acid, and your skin contains its own. Some temporary local deflation beyond the filler is normal and recovers over a few weeks.
Does it work on every filler?
No — HA fillers only. Calcium-based fillers, PLLA collagen stimulators, polymer fillers and anything permanent cannot be dissolved. That asymmetry in reversibility is worth weighing before you choose a product.
Is an allergy test needed?
Some clinics skin-test first, since allergic reactions are uncommon but documented. Ask what their protocol is, particularly if you have multiple allergies.

Usually a flat price per session (₩100k in one Seoul list), but clinics vary it by area and by how much filler has to go. Expect to pay again if a second pass is needed — and note that many clinics won't dissolve filler they didn't inject without a consultation first.
